TBS does not currently have any student apprentices.  I am looking for a mature person who has completed at least one full year of midwifery school, does not have young children, has reliable transportation and is willing to put in the time and effort required to complete both the academic and the clinical training necessary to finish the NARM requirements for becoming a CPM.  Please contact me with a resume of school completed and birth experience.

Currently, I have Meghan Morrow working as an assistant at births.  She is not required to attend prenatal appointments but is my extra pair of hands during a birth to help with charting, equipment, assisting mothers in and out of the pool, bed or bathtub, resuscitation and clean up!  She has lots of energy and leaves everything tidy and all packed away when it’s time for us to leave.  Here is her bio:

My passion is helping new families get off to the best possible start as they add a new miracle to their lives. I am a dual-certified birth and postpartum doula of three and a half years, and hold my certification as a midwife's assistant from The Farm Midwifery Center in Summertown, TN. My deep appreciation and awe of this amazing work inspired me to leave a decade-long career to provide the kind of open-hearted, competent, and respectful care that all families deserve. I maintain active CPR and NRP certifications, and my education is continually ongoing through self-study as well as attending conferences and trainings regularly.

When I am not waiting for a baby’s first cry I love to read, practice yoga, and spend time with my husband and four year old son.

I look forward to serving you and your family and thank you for allowing me to be part of your story!
